Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; hereinafter “Google”). The use includes the “Universal Analytics” operating mode. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID and thus to analyze a user's activities across devices.
Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”; text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website is usually transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, if IP anonymization is activated on our website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. We would like to point out that on this website, Google Analytics has been extended to include IP anonymization in order to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). The IP address provided by Google Analytics as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. For more information about Terms of Use and Privacy, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.htmlbzw. under https://policies.google.com/?hl=de
On our behalf, as the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of/visit to our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website and internet use. This is the purpose of the data processing.
The legitimate interest in the data processing lies in optimizing our website, analyzing its use and adapting its content. The interests of the users are sufficiently protected by the pseudonymization.
The personal data is transferred to the USA under the EU-US Privacy Shield on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision. You can access the certificate on the following website: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI.
The data sent by us and linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs will be automatically deleted after 14 months. Data that has reached the end of its retention period is automatically deleted once a month.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. To prevent Universal Analytics from collecting data across different devices, you must opt out on all systems used. Clicking here will set the opt-out cookie: Disable Google Analytics
MailChimp
We use the services of MailChimp, a service of Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA, to send our newsletters. MailChimp is a service that organizes and analyzes the distribution of newsletters, among other things. When you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter (e.g. your e-mail address), it is stored on MailChimp's servers in the United States. MailChimp is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. The Privacy Shield is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the US to ensure compliance with European privacy standards in the United States.
With the help of MailChimp, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent by MailChimp, a file included in the e-mail (called a web beacon) connects to MailChimp's servers in the United States. This allows us to determine if a newsletter message has been opened and which links you click on. In addition, technical information is collected (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). We cannot assign this information to the respective newsletter recipient. They are used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. We can use the results of these analyzes to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.
If you do not want your usage to be analyzed by MailChimp, you will have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for you to do this in every newsletter message.
The data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the data processing carried out previously.
The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the MailChimp servers after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data that we have stored for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members area) remain unaffected. For more information, please refer to the MailChimp privacy policy at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.
We have entered into a data processing agreement with MailChimp, in which we require MailChimp to protect our customers' data and not to disclose it to third parties.
Google reCaptcha
To protect your requests via the internet form, we use the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Inc. The query is used to determine whether the input is made by a human or abusively by automated, machine processing. The query includes sending the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, your input will be transmitted to Google and used there. However, your IP address will be shortened by Google in advance within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of reCaptcha is not merged with other data from Google. These data are subject to Google's deviating data protection regulations. Further information on Google's data protection guidelines can be found at: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/. An opt-out option can be found at the following link: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.
Social media plugins
We use social media plugins from the social networks Facebook and Instagram on our website. These social media plugins normally result in every visitor to the website being immediately registered by these services with their IP address. This means that all further activities on the internet are logged, even if you do not click on one of the buttons.
To prevent this, we use the so-called Shariff solution, which ensures that no personal data is initially passed on to the providers of the individual social media plugins when you visit our website. Only when you click on one of the social media plugins can data be transmitted to the respective service provider and stored there. With the Shariff solution, the buttons of the individual providers are only integrated as graphics that contain a link to the individual social media services. A connection to the social media services only arises if you click on the respective button. After clicking on the button and being redirected to the social network's website, the obligation to provide information no longer lies with us, but with the social network operator. Information about the collection and use of your data in social networks can be found in the respective terms of use of the corresponding providers.
We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website:
Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA) – Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
Instagram (Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, USA) – Privacy Policy: http://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/
Data security
We take all necessary technical and organizational security measures to store your personal data in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties or the public. If you wish to contact us by email, we would like to point out that the confidentiality of the information transmitted cannot be fully guaranteed using this method of communication. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information only by post.
